With rising interest rates, there are many home buyers who cannot afford to buy anymore. Many of these homebuyers still need to move, so renting may be the best option for those who still need to relocate.

In Loudoun County, VA, there are currently 210 Active or Coming Soon condos, townhomes, or single family homes for rent. Of those, the average days on market is 29 days and the average monthly rental list price is $3191/month. The days on market has increased slightly but gives prospective renters a little time to find an available rental.

For rental homes closed in the last 90 days, the days on market was 22 days and the average closed monthly rental price was $3038/mo.

If you are wondering what to do this weekend, you’ve come to the right place! It may be a rainy weekend, but there are still plenty of fun and exciting things to do in the area!

So, why not take advantage of the downtime and enjoy some of the opportunities that Loudoun County has to offer! What does $1 Million Dollars Get you in Northern Virginia?

Today we spotlight what you can get in Arlington County, Fairfax County, and Loudoun County if you bought a home for a million dollars in the last 30 days. All of these homes sold recently and give you a flavor of what you can get for your money.

ARLINGTON:

Cute 1800 square foot home built in 1925 with 3 bedrooms and 3 ½ bathrooms on 2318 N Dinwiddie St, Arlington. LOUDOUN:

Everything changes when you go out to Loudoun County! This home has 4303 finished square feet, lovely wrap around porch, updated kitchen, 4 bedrooms and 3 ½ bathrooms. Your Cozy Home Checklist

This winter, there’s a good chance you’ll be spending more time at home than ever before. So why not turn your home into your haven? We’ve compiled a few simple tips to help you beat the winter blues, save on heating costs, and stay at home this winter.

SPRUCE UP YOUR ENTRYWAY

Kids and pets (and yes, you too!) can track in a lot of snow, ice, and mud from the outdoors. Don’t leave your floors unprotected. Treat yourself to new door mats (both inside and outside) along with boot trays inside your entryway. A mudroom is perfect for hanging wet jackets, but if you don’t have a mudroom, you can get creative with a hall tree or even some well-placed coat hooks.

REVERSE YOUR CEILING FANS

Most ceiling fans have a switch to make the blades run in reverse. Running your ceiling fan clockwise on a low setting helps push heated air down and redistribute warmth throughout the room. This is especially helpful in rooms with high ceilings. By simply reversing your ceiling fan, you can drop your thermostat to save on heating costs and you’ll still feel cozy!

SAY GOODBYE TO DRY AIR

Your furnace pushes dry air into your home, wreaking havoc on your skin! Using a humidifier helps to improve air quality while keeping you comfortable. An oil diffuser is another great option for adding moisture to the air, and it comes with the added benefits of elevating your mood and reducing your stress. If you’re having trouble deciding between a humidifier and an oil diffuser, why not choose both? Some humidifiers pull double duty by acting as oil diffusers too!

ADD A LITTLE GREEN TO BEAT THE BLUES

Dreary winter days can have a negative impact on your mood. A few well placed indoor plants will help brighten up your space and lift your spirits. There are plenty of great options for adding greenery to your home this winter. We love succulents as a low-maintenance, high style way to beat the winter blues!

WARM UP BY THE FIRE

There’s nothing like a fire in the fireplace to make you feel cozy. Even if you don’t have a built in fireplace, you can still create a seriously cozy atmosphere with a portable one! There are a ton of great options on the market. A tabletop fireplace makes for a chic centerpiece that you can move from room to room. As an added bonus, you can use it on your patio table come summertime. Our favorite portable fireplaces use ethanol. Since ethanol is recycled and clean-burning, you don’t have to worry about dangerous fumes in indoors
